Our actions and inactions have consequences. These consequences affect our children now and in the future. To protect them now and in the future we must reject divisive actions, seeking to engage each other as citizens, helping and caring for each other, and recognizing our common humanity.

Labels have no place in describing people. I am particularly concerned about labels being tossed around in the current political climate and how dangerous this can be. It corrodes the moral fabric of our society.

And there is nothing more uncivilized than the political establishment’s inurement to the constancy of mass shootings in the United States.”
