Using Paul Farmer’s AMCs as our guide, our efforts can be converted into our achievements on behalf of all children. His work will be celebrated as a testament to an incredible lifetime of dedication to others and his legacy can be the ongoing accomplishments of those that follow in his footsteps of service to others.

What is the solvent for hate?
If empathy and love are the antidotes to hate, we still need tools (solvents) to accomplish the task of eradicating its toxic sticky presence. Truth, trust, science, civility, diversity and faith are giant steps in the right direction.
We cannot let it happen
Our actions and inactions have consequences. These consequences affect our children now and in the future. To protect them now and in the future we must reject divisive actions, seeking to engage each other as citizens, helping and caring for each other, and recognizing our common humanity.
What Matters
What matters is all around. Even if I can define what I think matters (truth, trust, science, civility, diversity and faith), only by selfless acts and devotion to others can what matters become actions serving others and celebrating the miracle of life.
Inside/Outside
It is too easy to see something as purely inside or outside when often it is really just an artificial designation.

Patriotism is between the ears – the thoughts and actions of people who care for and about others.
