Our job is to recognize and analyze the past (our history) and to learn how to correct or change our current situation based on our history.
Thoughts
Be well, Do good work, Keep in touch
The signoff from Prairie Home Companion – “be well, do good work, and keep in touch” – is incredibly powerful and worthy of further discussion.
Anger and/or apathy
Letting anger and/or apathy become a part of our ethos will not serve us well. Disagreements can be tempered without anger. Civic involvement should replace apathy.
Love, Grace, and Mercy
Our children need to be the recipients of love, grace and mercy so they can pass them on to the lives of their children in the next generation.
Relate – Rupture – Repair; Repeat
We should always be prepared to Relate (while regulated) – (deal with the inevitable) Rupture – (actively) Repair.
The Decency of Political Correctness
Political correctness is ok and necessary in my view. It serves to adjust our moral compass on an episodic basis.
